The Term 3 Terrors

We suddenly find ourselves halfway through the third term and wondering where the time has gone. The seniors now have less than a term of school time left before they launch into the end of the year exams.

We have a couple of important dates coming up at school that affect the seniors in particular:

- Tournament week (starting August 29)

- Exam week (starts on Wednesday September 7)

Where are we up to with assessment currently in Digi Tech?

Level 1 students are just winding up an Achievement Standard for an area of computer science. It involves writing and has literacy credits attached. They have been working hard at home on this as well. This has been hard work, but has had its highlights of fun stuff - we got to strip down a problem computer and together, rebuilt it. Lots of evaluation through discussion and testing on the machine to determine what was wrong with it. This computer will appear in our room once our technician has managed to set it up for our network :) Some of our Level 2 students also joined in with this rebuild - just out of personal interest. A great way for students to collaborate over their ideas and skills.

Level 2 students are mid-way through their Spreadsheet assessment. When this is done they will be doing some preparation for their exam next week; the topic and area of assessment for this is Mail Merge.

Level 3 students have completed a tenacious and difficult Spreadsheet assessment recently. They now working on the Level 3 topic for Database and will begin the Database assessment for this in exam week.
