In year 9 we have a 6 week taster programme that covers the following basic skills:

• Touch typing

• Publications

• Slide shows

• Pseudo-code (very basic programming)

• Integrated Technology Product

 

This course has been designed to provide students with good foundational skills to help them become proficient during their secondary school years in both Digital Technologies (should they choose to take it in following years), and other subjects where computing skills are needed.

 

 

 

While students are not overloaded with homework from this course every night, they are asked to complete something each week. They are asked to do things like:

• Typing Club (Google Chrome app, complete 1 or 2 levels at home.

• code.org, 1 or 2 levels.

• Slide show presentation about themselves (using google slides).
